A man who founded one of the largest chain stores in the world was asked what the secret of his success was.
He replied: My place of birth is one of the cities in England.
My life was such that I was born into a low-income family, and because I saw myself as really poor, I knew no other way than begging.
I said: What are you talking about, sir? Can I sell a knuckle for ten pounds?
He said: How about thirty pounds?
I said: You are kidding me.
He said: On the contrary, I am telling you entirely seriously.
I said: Sir, I am poor, I am a beggar, but I am not stupid.
He still raised the price to a thousand pounds. I said: If you give me ten thousand pounds, I am not ready for this stupid deal with you.
He said: If one of your knuckles is worth more than ten thousand pounds, how much is your heart’s price?
